Spann Vineyards Cabernet Franc 2011 label

Cabernet Franc, Amador County 2011

We traditionally use this grape to add mid-palate richness and complex aromas to our Cabernet Sauvignon blend, but since Cabernet Franc is so interesting by itself we chose our best barrels to bottle as a single varietal wine.

Malbec 80% & Merlot 20%

This Rubenesque wine is very dark in color with an enticing black cherry aroma and lush, mouth-filling red and black cherry flavors. 2012 was a long, cool growing season in Sonoma County and these Malbec and Merlot grapes ripened perfectly. Spann Vineyards Petit Verdot 2008 bottle photo

Petit Verdot, Dry Creek Valley 2008

Petit Verdot 85% & Cabernet Sauvignon 15%

Petit Verdot is the least known of the Bordeaux grape varieties but is highly prized by winemakers for its beautiful aroma of violet & lilac, for its richness without bitter tannins and for the way it expands flavors in your mouth. It's rarely bottled on its own and is one of our rarest varietal bottlings - only 45 cases produced and less than 12 bottles now available.  This wine is nearing its peak and is a true treasure,   All sales are subject to availability.
