"Was recommend Spann Vineyards by a friend who had visited them previously and this winery was the highlight of our trip. Their tasting room is in Kenwood and right across from a delicious restaurant. Once inside our group of 4 was greeted by owner/winemaker Peter Spann. No other winery we visited had the owner/winemaker hosting the tasting. Peter explained everything to us from how to know when the grapes are ready to be picked, soil, what barrels to use to even how the wine is made. This was such a great treat for us and we left completely amazed into the winemaking process. Peter answered all of our questions and went into such great detail about their wines which were our favorites and not like most wines in this area. They make lighter style wines, more French in style and some wines we had never heard of like Tempranillo. Their blends were also fantastic, the Mo Zin, Yin-Yang, the Classic Four but they also make great Cab, Syrah and some white wines. This winery really had the most delicious wines and something for everyone in our group. We'll be back for their special pizza and wine pairing. I could go on and on about Spann, the wines were our favorite but the service we received was first class and so memorable that we have been telling our friends they need to check this place out. Do yourself a favor and check this place out, you won't be sorry."
